It has been said, "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance." Liberty undefended is liberty lost. So it is spiritually. Just as political and national freedom has to be defended on the battlefield, so does spiritual freedom. The apostle Peter said, "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith." (1 Peter 5:8-9)
